Reaching Beyond The Visible, The Photobook Cafe
In celebration of International Women’s Day, I was honoured to exhibit some pieces from ‘Outlines 2024’ in Reaching Beyond The Visible at the Photobook Cafe.
On March 6th-9th 2025, The Photobook Cafe saw a major group exhibition that explored Womanhood and Identity, and highlighted Female artists creating today. Artworks in the exhibition explored themes of Mythology, Spirituality and Heritage, by tapping into dreamlike states, detachment and questioning one’s identity and womanhood. Taking shape as photographic prints, mixed object installations and reading materials.
Photographic Workshops with Fermynwoods Contemporary Art
Elizabeth Blackie was commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art to deliver a series of analogue and digital photography workshops for students attending alternative provision. The workshops explored both technical and creative aspects of photography. The student engagement was excellent throughout, leading to the creation of a series of striking cyanotypes made using found objects and natural materials collected from the nearby forest. It was a great day, showcasing the students’ creativity and connecting the work with the local environment.
OD Photo Prize 2024 and Artist’s Panel Talk
I was honoured to exhibit in the 2024 OD Photo Prize with Open Doors Gallery, where I was selected in the jurors top pick by Professor Steven Macloed, in which I won the 2024 Metro Imaging Mentorship.
This year’s OD Photo Prize edition saw well over 1,200 projects submitted from around the world, showcasing a diverse range of styles and approaches. Twenty-one outstanding emerging pioneers of the photographic medium were selected to showcase their work and be included in the print sale.
Each of these artists were invited to participate in the online exhibition, and the exhibition in London at Battersea, running for just over a month until January 30th, 2025.
Elizabeth Blackie was apart of the Artist’s Panel Talk, alongside artist’s Sophie Gabrielle and Emily June Smith, discussing their work with Steve Macleod, Director of Metro Imaging, and Tom Page, Director and Founder of Open Doors Gallery.
Following On, The Bell House
I was thrilled to exhibit ‘Outlines 2024’ at The Bell House, Dulwich with Zinnia Collective.
One year on from their first group show, Zinnia Collective came together again for Following On. This group exhibition came a few months after the artists’ graduation and is a snapshot of the perspectives and conversations they hold at the beginnings of their careers as emerging artists.
